Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will go head-to-head for the second time in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 but this time it will be in the Super Four stage in Colombo, on Saturday.

Sri Lanka, who narrowly beat a confused-Afghanistan team in their last group stage match, will play their first Super Four match amid strong rain predictions.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka's last encounter ended in the latter's victory as they not only won the match but also outclassed their opponents by sending their entire batting side back to the pavilion for just 164 runs.

Moreover, Bangladesh have only gotten weaker. Their top-scorer in the tournament Najmul Hossain Shanto has been ruled out of the tournament following a hamstring injury and he is replaced by Litton Das, who was out due to a viral fever.

On the other side, Sri Lanka are also without key players but despite all that, they have managed to win two out of two group games and will look forward to starting their Super Four campaign on a high note.

Pitch report

The surface at the R Premadasa Stadium has historically favoured spinners but also provided an opportunity for the batters to do their job. The batters would want to take advantage of the powerplay because the pitch is likely to start favouring spinners during the middle overs.
