Pakistan team for Afghanistan ODI series is likely to be announced within two days

LAHORE: Pakistan team's foreign coaching staff will reach here this week to join the national team ahead of the Afghanistan series. 

Head coach Grant Bradburn and batting coach Andrew Puttick will reach on Friday. 

Physio Cliff Deacon and trainer Drakes Simon will come by the end of this week. Bowling coach Morne Morkel is likely to join the team in Sri Lanka. 

Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq is likely to announce the squad for Afghanistan series within two days. The selected players will undergo a brief training camp before leaving for Sri Lanka on August 17. 

Afghanistan will host Pakistan for three ODIs in Sri Lanka from August 22 to 26. 

The two teams will play the first two matches in Hambantota on 22 and 24 before they travel to Colombo for the final ODI on 26.

These three matches will provide Babar Azam’s side an opportunity to fine-tune their combinations ahead of the 50-over ACC Men’s Asia Cup.

Pakistan and Afghanistan have played four ODIs and Pakistan have won all of them. The two sides last played each other in the format in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019.

22 Aug – First ODI, Hambantota

24 Aug – Second ODI, Hambantota

26 Aug – Third ODI, Colombo

27 Aug – Departure for Pakistan
