Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma declined to answer a question related to Pakistan in order to ensure that there was no controversy.

Sharma was asked who is the toughest Pakistan bowler in his opinion ahead of the Asia Cup, which begins towards the end of this month.

“All the pacers in Pakistan team are equally good. I will not pick any individual. It creates a big controversy,” Rohit said in an event in the United States on Monday.

“If I will take one player’s name, the second will feel bad. If I will take second player’s name, then the third will feel bad. I think all of them are good,” he added.

A hybrid model will be used for the Asia Cup this year after India refused to tour Pakistan for the event due to security concerns.

The Asia Cup's four matches will be played in Pakistan as per the hybrid model. However, the remaining matches, including the knockout stage, will be held in Sri Lanka. The Island country will host nine matches.

The cricket tournament will be played from August 30 to September 17 in the 50-over format.

India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal will compete in a total of 13 ODI matches.

These teams are divided in two groups with Group A including Pakistan, India and Nepal. Meanwhile, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in Group B.

India will face Pakistan on September 2 in Kandy. They are also likely to lock horns in the Super Four stage of the event.
