Pakistan's Test specialist pacer Mohammad Abbas shined on day one of the opening match in County Championship division two.
While representing Hampshire against Nottinghamshire, Abbas took six wickets for 49 runs in the first innings.
The Pakistani pacer led his team from the front as they managed to bowl the opposition out for paltry 185 runs before tea on day one.
After opting to bat first, Nottinghamshire's top three batters faced Abbas' brilliance. The right-arm medium-pacer bagged three wickets in a row to take his team to the top.
Openers Haseeb Ahmed (16) and Ben Duckett (24) fell quickly within two overs of Abbas. Ben Slater fell after scoring 11 runs off 32 balls. Tom Moores made 49 off 82 balls.
Abbas was pick of the bowlers for Hampshire.
For his impressive performance, Abbas was highly praised on social media.
Hampshire re-signs Mohammad Abbas
In November last year, Hampshire re-signed Abbas for another two years. Abbas played a significant role in the county's two-year run for the red-ball title, taking 50 wickets in 2022 as Hampshire narrowly lost to Surrey.
The seasoned trio, which includes South African Kyle Abbott and left-armer Keith Barker, claimed 150 claimed between them in the most recent County Championship season.
In 2021, he bagged 41 wickets at an average of 15.87.
