The first Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) International Sailing Regatta Championship will start on March 16 in Karachi.
In a press conference that took place in Karachi on Wednesday, the president of Pakistan Sailing Federation Mohammad Saleem said this is a first-of-its-kind championship taking place in Pakistan.
"We are proud to announce the first-ever CNS International Sailing Regatta Championship. This is for the first time such an event is taking place in our country," he said.
As many as nine countries including Australia, Bahrain, Egypt, and Malaysia are taking part in the event. A total of 70 local and international sailors will compete in the event.
The championship will conclude on March 19.
