KARACHI: Former Test cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq, who is the president of Peshawar Zalmi, is confident for Babar Azam to fulfill his role as a captain.
Speaking to media on the sidelines of Zalmi's training session here on Friday, Inzamam said Babar is world's best batter, his presence as captain will benefit the 2017 PSL champions.
"Babar is best batter in the world right now. He is getting better day by day. I am confident that he will fulfill his role as a captain of Peshawar Zalmi," he said.
Inzamam believes that learning process for any player never ends. "No one is complete, learning process never ends. Babar is a very good player and he will keep on learning," he maintained.
To a query about his experience while working with youngsters, Inzamam said it's something really close to his heart.
"I always enjoy working with youngsters. We have a lot of talent and they have potential to represent Pakistan at international level. I will try my best to share my experience with them," he shared.
League cricket
Inzamam said cricket has changed a lot by the time. "Cricket has changed a lot. In our time, cricket was slow, gradually, the game has been modernized," he said.
"I wish there was league cricket in our time too," Inzamam responded to a question.
Chief selector
Inzamam said he would consider if Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) offers any post to him. "I don't know for now, but if any post is offered to me, I will decide then," he said.
It must be noted here that Inzamam served as Pakistan men's team chief selector from 2016 to 2019. He selected the team that won first-ever Champions Trophy in 2017.
