Bray Wyatt will finally make his WWE PPV comeback against LA Knight in the first-ever Pitch Black Match at the 2023 Royal Rumble.

Although he made a comeback at Extreme Rules in October, The Eater of Worlds hasn't competed in a single TV match or high-end live event since.

In his second stint with the organisation, Wyatt has only participated in non-televised live events since his last significant match at WrestleMania 37 in April 2021.

And WWE is aiming to go all out for his comeback by introducing the absurd and enigmatic Pitch Black Match.

WWE is keeping their cards close to their chest about what will be involved, therefore there are few details available about the match.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the fight would feature some "neon" features. The WWE was practising using neon at this week's Rumble.

But it's unclear whether it would resemble the red lights that Wyatt and Seth Rollins faced off under at Hell in the Cell 2019.

"It’s unique, it’s never been seen before. We don’t know quite what to expect. All we know is there are no rules, anything goes, pinfall or submission. Bray Wyatt has tried quite desperately to avoid this descent into darkness but he’s failing," commentator Michael Cole said on Friday Night SmackDown at the beginning of the month.

The Royal Rumble will be held on January 28 in The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, in the United States.
