Virat Kohli was left utterly furious and fumed at the umpires after being dismissed in a peculiar manner during his side's Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) encounter against Kolkata Knights Riders (KK) at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, April 21.
Kohli seemed to be in splendid form, having amassed 18 runs off just 7 deliveries before being caught out by a Harshit Rana slower delivery. The RCB batter was thoroughly displeased with the subsequent events.
Rana completed the catch cleanly, and it appeared that everyone, even in the commentary box, believed it was a no-ball.
The umpires reviewed the decision, and the third umpire confirmed the delivery was too high, resulting in Kohli's dismissal. The RCB star was left bewildered by what had occurred, which quickly turned to frustration. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis was also observed in a heated discussion with the umpires.
Kohli initially walked off but returned to argue umpires and shout at them. The RCB stalwart was seen shaking his head as he departed and conversing with his bench as KKR claimed their first wicket.
Kohli seemed to be in excellent form that day, having struck two sixes and a boundary, including a no-look shot off Mitchell Starc as RCB chased 223 for victory.

It must be noted that RCB elected to field first at the Eden Gardens, and Phil Salt provided KKR with an excellent start. Salt scored 48 off just 14 balls, thrashing Lockie Ferguson for 28 runs in an over. KKR lost a few quick wickets thereafter, but Shreyas Iyer managed to register his 20th IPL fifty.
Late contributions from Ramandeep Singh and Andre Russell propelled KKR to 222 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs.
At the time of writing, RCB are at 145/4 in 12 overs and are looking to bag their first win after losing five consecutive games.
