Paris Saint Germain’s star forward Kylian Mbappe is closing in on signing for renowned Spanish club Real Madrid.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mbappe never wanted to negotiate with any other club and his full focus is on Real Madrid.
“His decision is Real Madrid. No doubts. Just waiting to get it signed,” Romano added.
Earlier, Mbappe on Tuesday said that he is eager to win the first Champions League title for his hometown club.
The star forward scored twice to help his side to a 4-1 comeback win at Barcelona and qualify for the semi-finals with a 6-4 aggregate win on Tuesday.
"I have the dream of winning the Champions League for Paris," Mbappe told reporters at Barcelona Olympic stadium on Tuesday.
"I'm proud to be at PSG since the first day. It's not because there are good times and bad times that my pride takes a hit. The pride of playing for this club, of representing the club of the capital of my country, it's something special for me who grew up there.
"To experience an evening like this one as a Parisian, it's great. We have one more step to go before we reach the final in Wembley, so we need to stay calm."
Mbappe is expected to complete his long-awaited move to Real Madrid in the summer after reportedly informing PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi that he will leave the club after the end of the season as a free agent.
The Frenchman’s move to Madrid is just a matter of time now as multiple outlets have reported that the official deal will be announced as soon as final details are agreed upon between the two sides.
It must be noted that Madrid have been trying to sign Mbappe since his AS Monaco days in 2017-18 but the player decided to join PSG on a €180 million deal.
The deal was likely to happen last summer after the 25-year-old sent a letter to the French club saying that he would not extend his contract till 2025.
