Virat Kohli wrote his name in the history books after becoming just the first player to complete 7,500 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history during the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday.
Kohli, 35, has been in great form in the IPL 2024 and continues to shine for RCB. He scored a brilliant century in the match as he now has three tons in the last seven innings in the tournament. The former franchise skipper stood up once again by helping his side get on with a quick start with a 125-run partnership with Faf du Plessis.
He has now completed 7,500 runs in IPL in his 242nd innings, which is the most by any batter in the tournament’s history. The second on the list is another Indian, Shikhar Dhawan, who has 6755 runs in 221 matches.

Ever since returning from paternity break, Kohli has been in sensational form as he is the leading run-scorer of the tournament with over 250 runs to his name.
By the time this story was filed, Kohli had concluded his innings scoring 113 runs on 72 balls with the help of 16 boundaries with RCB setting a 184-run target for RR.
