Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine has produced thrillers in the last four games with the match being decided on the final balls.

The 29th game also went to the last ball with Peshawar Zalmi clinching a two-run win over Karachi Kings to go to the top of the points table.

With one round match to go between Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans, the action will move to playoffs from March 14.

Zalmi are at the top with 13 points and regardless of the result between Gladiators and Sultans, Babar Azam's side will play Qualifier 1.

On the other hand, the winner of Gladiators and Sultans will face Zalmi. If Gladiators win, they will finish on 13 points while Sultans securing victory would take them to 14 points.

Meanwhile, Islamabad United will play Eliminator and the loser of Gladiators and Sultans will be the other team.

Possible first two playoff matches

Qualifier 1: Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators/ Multan Sultans

Eliminator: Islamabad United vs Quetta Gladiators/ Multan Sultans

It must be noted that Peshawar Zalmi restricted Karachi Kings to 145/5, after posting a target of 148 runs.

Despite a solid start by the opening pair, Tim Seifert and James Vince, the Kings faced setbacks as wickets fell at regular intervals. Seifert top-scored with 41, but a collective effort from Zalmi's bowlers, especially Naveen-ul-Haq with figures of 2/22, limited the Kings' innings.

The chase saw notable contributions from Tim Seifert, Shoaib Malik, and Irfan Khan Niazi, but they fell short.

Earlier, Karachi Kings had successfully restricted Peshawar Zalmi to 147/6, with Babar Azam top-scoring with 51. The Kings' bowlers, including Zahid Mahmood and Hasan Ali, played a crucial role in breaking partnerships and controlling the Zalmi innings.

Rovman Powell's late cameo added valuable runs to Zalmi's total.

The result marked Karachi Kings' disappointing conclusion to their PSL 9 campaign, finishing with only eight points in ten league matches.
