Premier League’s table-toppers Liverpool could miss the services of Darwin Nunez for their Premier League clash at Arsenal this weekend, manager Jurgen Klopp revealed on Friday.
Liverpool eased past Chelsea 4-1 on Wednesday and Nunez played the full 90 minutes, but Klopp said that he exited the ground in a protective boot afterwards.
"I don't know if Darwin is available or not because after 20 minutes somebody stepped on his foot and it was very painful," Klopp told reporters ahead of Sunday's game at The Emirates.
"He only took the boot off after the game because he didn't want to see it before, he knew there was something, so he left the stadium in a boot, and it was not a football boot.
"Nothing broke, x-ray clear, but swollen. We have to see if he can get this foot back in the boot or not."
Klopp also lauded Liverpool while also touting the Premier League as the best in the world.
“This is the best league in the world and we are top of the table. Are there any bad players in this team? No. [They] are all fantastic, good looking on top of that!"
Klopp also said that his side will do everything in their power to stop other teams from winning the title.
"We will try to make it as hard as somehow possible for everyone who wants to finish this season above us, let's see if we can do that."
