Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has once again claimed top spot in the ICC ODI rankings after the latest update was issued on Wednesday.

The former Pakistan captain has 824 rating points, according to the ICC.

India’s Shubman Gill, 810, and Virat Kohli, 775, are in second and third place, respectively.

Azam dethroned Gill from the top spot after the India opener was rested for the ongoing series against South Africa.

Meanwhile, England’s leg-spinner Adil Rashid has jumped two places to take the top spot from Afghanistan's Rashid Khan (second) and India's Ravi Bishnoi (third) on the T20I rankings for bowlers.

Rashid is the second player from England to bag the No.1 ranking for T20I bowlers after off-spinner Graeme Swann held the top spot more than a decade ago.

Suryakumar Yadav has stretched his lead to 100 rating points after his brisk century in the last game of India's series against South Africa, with Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan (second) and South Africa’s Aiden Markram (third) his closest rivals.

After the win over Pakistan in the Perth Test recently, Australia opener Usman Khawaja (up three places to fourth) moves ahead of Azam and is within striking distance of top-ranked Kane Williamson on the updated rankings for Test batters.

Khawaja’s teammate David Warner has also jumped nine spots to 27th and Mitchell Marsh improves 12 places to equal 68th after good performance against Pakistan.

In the Test bowler’s rankings, Australia’s captain Pat Cummins is up one place to third, Nathan Lyon jumped three spots to fifth, Mitchell Starc rose two places to eighth and Josh Hazlewood has climbed two spots to 10th as India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin continues to hold sway at the top.
